Indian Wells Masters (Pacific Life Open)

This tournament is played in the small town of Indian Wells, California. It is held in March and is one of two events in which main draw play extends over eight days. It is the best attended tennis tournament outside of the four grand slams. It has the second largest tennis stadium in the world. The Indian Wells Masters event was first played in 1976. Top players have played in this event from the start. In 1987, it moved from La Quinta, California to it's current, permanent home in Indian Wells, California. In 1996, Indian Wells became one of the first fully combined Masters Series tournaments. The men and the women play in the same time frame.
